Making money online involves getting other peoples’ attention. You must be visible for people to know about the products that you have for sale and the services that you have to offer. Make this happen by creating viral content. It’s no guarantee that your content will be viral each time. A lot of what goes viral does so simply based on the whim of a single individual. Of course, you can take steps to increase your chances that people will notice you. You don’t know if you will go viral, but this shouldn’t mean that you won’t try to improve your chances. The following are a few things that you should do.
Always tag your content when you syndicate it to anywhere. And try not to think that tags are just tools for blogs. There are meta tags that can be placed on all your static site pages. Your tags provide a means for proper categorization so the people who are looking for that information will find it easier. It’s not hard, and the pay-off will be more popularity, traffic, and possibly rankings for your pages. If your content has enough appeal, as your ranking climbs more people will take notice of it – and then it may become viral in nature.
Make it easy for people to share your work offline as well. You don’t have to confine your marketing efforts to the internet just because you make your sales and promote your work online. Offline content is also contagious and become viral. Make it easy for people to print, burn copies of and share your work with those who do not have regular internet access. You could do this and get a load of new customers.
Here’s a sneaky and cheap stunt… act like you’re completely clueless and idiotic about a subject.
If that doesn’t appeal to you, then you can always come out and admit to being half an idiot about something. It takes courage to admit to not knowing something, and there’s nothing wrong with asking for help. People will be more likely to at least comment, and offer help, if you’re just clear and open about being clueless. But, as always you can pretend and then include some really ignorant comments into your content. Desperate internet marketers do this all the time. But don’t forget this… you’ll have to live with this tactic if you do it.
Who knows how many internet marketers spend a very long time working on something they hope will become viral. The truth is that nobody knows exactly why one person’s work gets incredibly popular and another person’s doesn’t. So that leaves us with only one thing, consistently produce top quality content do massive promotion. Eventually people will take notice and your chances of being the next “it” guy (or gal) online will increase dramatically!
